if they find the bear and that guy that mutilated the cactus (from that other story you posted) - they should lock them in the same cage.

Most of the time its people leaving food in the tent.
Some basic rules When first looking for campsite check area for bear tracks or scat. Always leave your container of food in a vehicle and/or well away from the sleeping area. Canvas tents will help slow down the intruder over regular nylon style. Dogs are an awesome early warning detection system. if you are gonna carry, carry a high power rifle (7mm or bigger) or a good hunting revolver like a 460 or larger not 9mm handguns! Buckner keep up the good work its great to always get this outdoor info!

I would still use the rifle as a last resort but I have no qualms being confronted by a forest ranger while I am standing over a bear carcass out of season.
