Default What tools do you carry and what sort of containers/organizers do you use?
we've already got a "what spares do you carry?" thread here...

so i thought i'd start this thread. i was going thru everything today making sure stuff hadn't dried out or gone missing and batteries still worked, etc - so i took pictures and while i was at it weighed everything out of curiosity!

so i use a 1520 Pelican case with padded divider set (part number 1524), and added the "photographer's lid organizer" to it as well. the Pelican carries 95% of my tools and little bit of the spare & misc stuff like bailing wire, duct tape, epoxies and goops, fuses, relays, bolts, fittings, zip-ties, etc. the case and all this stuff comes in at a hefty 65 pounds!

on more remote trips i also carry an air impact wrench and die grinder with cut-off blade too (those just get tucked away in whatever little spots are free). the hi-lift, full size axe and shovel are always on the roof, and the stock jack is always under the back seat. the trail welder also stays in the jeep.

and the trail welder:

Me too. If you ever wheeled with Kris, you would see that his rig looks empty and always so clean. Now I know how he does it. He has a magician's hat that doubles as a black Pelican Case. LOL!

I have a few of these laying around, maybe this is what I need to do. My little craftsman tool bags seem to collect so much dust on the inside. Well, perhaps that is because I am the only one that did not have A/C and drove around with the top off or that my tool bags have been sitting for two years waiting for me to fix the jeep.
