      Date Change:
I had a work thing come up and had to change the date. We are now heading out a week later on July 27th.
Come escape the summer heat for a trip from Flagstaff down to Sedona. We'll end this in Sedona so that you can if you chose spend the rest of the day there. This run is a lot of fun with great views. They do close this trail when it gets snowy or muddy. It's also closed nightly and opened again in the AM. We will be fine when we run it. Last part of the trip we will see some of the Pink Jeeps from the Pink Jeep Tours.
If you're a Jeep-owner, this is an official Jeep Badge of Honor trail. Jeep has 3 trails represented (Table Mesa and The back way to Crown King are the other 2). If you're unfamiliar with the program, click here. (Copied, pasted and modified from Ryan's CK run. Thx Ryan)
      Trail Difficulty:
Some sites list this trail as Easy, some list it as Moderate. I've seen a minivan go as far as the pink jeeps do. (That's the hardest part of the trail.) However, I would not recommend doing it in a minivan.
      Vehicle Recommendations:
High clearance required. Off Road tires required. Low range is recommend to make it easier going down some of these hills. Not required you'll just use more brakes. If you have a 4x4 vehicle with off road tires you should be fine.

Due to popular demand, the 15th annual Dirt Gala will be back at the Cinders! Come spend the weekend camping with us at the O'Leary group site near Sunset Crater in your tent, trailer, or RV. Friday afternoon we'll do a short moderate trail ride into the Cinders OHV area, then on Saturday we'll take an easy trail behind the San Francisco Peaks over to a short hike in the Lava River Caves. Both trail rides are optional - you could also just hang out at camp, go into Flagstaff and play tourist, or explore on your own!
Chock full of friends, family, games, prizes, laughter and dirt – there’s fun for everyone! So grab the whole family and join us. Don't be that person hearing about all the awesome stuff you missed for the next whole year!

Let's disappear into the first designated wilderness in the world, New Mexico's beautiful and vast Gila National Forest, October 10-13, 2024.
The exact route is TBD, but I have spent quite a bit of time in this region and plan for us to spend three nights in the backcountry on a multi-day northeast-ish to southwest-ish traverse of the Gila. Expect approximately 100 trail miles.
We will traverse high country, low country, and everything in between. If we get lucky, we might get some fall color. The trails are pretty easy and almost any high-clearance 4x4 should do fine. The camping is dispersed and rugged, so you'll need to plan to be fully self-sufficient (including BYO toilet).
I'm limiting this to myself plus five other vehicles.  Multiple people per vehicle are fine as long as you're sleeping in the same tent or doing a RTT. The campsites in the Gila don't tend to be huge, so a medium-sized group will do better.
This will be a Club Member trip.
