PHOENIX - A Phoenix woman has been arrested and charged with murder in a deadly double rollover crash on Greenway Parkway back in 2016.

The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office has charged Catherine Anastasia Heinink with aggravated assault, endangerment, and murder in relation to the North Phoenix wreck.

On July 26, 2016, the Phoenix Fire Department responded to a double rollover crash, near 7th Street and Greenway Parkway.
They transported three patients in critical condition from the scene.
Witnesses reported that a Jeep was struck by a car, driven by a woman and moving at a high rate of speed.
John Robert Howe, who was the only person in the Jeep, later died from his injuries.
Heinink was arrested at her home in North Phoenix on June 12 and is being held on a $750,000 bond for endangerment, aggravated assault, and second-degree murder.

I don't know. I wonder if it took that long to gather the evidence they needed to charge her? No idea, but glad they got around to it.

The wheels of justice turn slowly, but grind exceedingly fine. At least I hope the outcome will be like that.

Prior to her arrest, a grand jury had met, heard testimony and found probable cause for police to take Ms. Heinink into custody, according to court video at her initial appearance.
According to a Form IV document, the offense occurred July 26, 2016. News outlets reported on a crash near 7th Street and Greenway Parkway on that date.
Phoenix police on Friday confirmed that John Robert Howe, 50, died as a result of that collision the day after.
It appears Mr. Howe was the driver of a Jeep that collided with another vehicle driven at a high rate of speed by a woman, most likely Ms. Heinink.
However, it does not appear that she was arrested anytime soon after Mr. Howe’s death.
Her bond was set at $750,000 and with an arraignment hearing June 20.
