ChrisD is visiting from Germany and so we took him out to FJ with intention of running to the Coke Ovens area, but technical difficulties forced us to just run 2wd trail, so we did Box Canyon mainly...

i forgot to take any more pics after the mechanical issues, anyone else get any good ones?

Hi Kris,

here are some, I took. The first one is from where my 4WD Rubicon decided to be a 2WD Rubicon:

Here is the stagecoach building:

Here three pictures from you, George and Dave playing at the waterfall:

And here the pure waterfall, where you all were so friendly to winch me up on the 'highway line' to the left.

Thanks to all of you. It was an outstanding day for me, despite the technical problems.

Here's some of my pics.

Airing down are Clifford, ChrisD, Rubiding (G&D's Fountain Hills Friends David & Julie) & theksmith:

In Box Canyon:

Right here I'm saying, "Um, I don't think he's got it in 4 wheel drive".

Turns out, he thought it was in 4 wheel drive, but it was not engaged. George got under it to see if he could fix it, but there were too many skid plates in the way.

So ChrisD had to take the 2 wheel drive line all the way through:

Whereas K was looking for stuff to climb:

The old stagestop is fenced off now, and graffittied:

Playing at the waterfall:

We had to give ChrisD a tug up:

Then we just shot out Cottonwood Rd.

Thanks everybody for coming out to make this a fun day.

I'd like to add that Clifford ran fine - never overheated even though it was hot outside and I ran the air! Yeah Baby!

Diane

This is what ChrisD's technical issue was. The shifter cable dropped out of it's mounting place in it's holding bracket:

Notice the 2 holes that I drilled in the bracket:

This is the original clip holding the cable in the bracket (bad design):

Two sets of heavy-guage wire through the drilled holes solved the problem:

Chris, you are ready to hit the trails.

George

Thanks so much George. It shifts now so smooth. Perfect !!!!
I might see, which trails I can do, depending on the overheating problem.

See you,

Chris

why does the extra insulation around the wire in this pic look melted or chewed?
