Decent price for a bolt-in locker axle for TJ's … GLWS…

Kris,
On first blush this may seem like a decent idea, however an XJ D44, or an XJ corporate 8.25, would be much easier (& less $$'s in the long run, as modifying this to fit an XJ would entail quite a bit more labor hours than a bolt-in solution.).

Not to argue Ob's point because he's correct, it would be more work than a bolt-in, and yes it would take some time. But G says it CAN be done, so I just wanted to get that out there.

Diane is correct, and I apologize for mucking up this sale thread, especially if I gave anyone the impression that making this axle fit an XJ is not possible. Modifying this to fit an XJ (and/or other vehicles of similar track width) by changing mounting bracketry is absolutely possible.

SO… IF this axle is otherwise what you're looking for (gearing, locker, alloy shafts, disc brakes, etc), please work with George, who can provide details of what may need to be done for your intended application.

G,
That would require she also be willing to alter front axle gearing…

If I were a betting guy (which BTW I'm not… ), I'm thinking she'll probably elect to stick with her stock D-44, equipped with 4.56's for now… But, if I've learned anything at all, it would be that I'll be letting her make that decision…

Since i'd have to pay someone to ditch that truss, re-gear to 4.10's & modify the spring perches for my leafs i believe something like the following would be more economical for this kid:

If I decide to keep this axle for Clifford, I will leave the truss but cut the tabs off the top. All the other brackets will get cut off and leaf perches and high clearance shock mounts will be welded back on.
