Default Hi from Pagosa Springs, CO
Hi, I saw a trip report on Expedition Portal and wanted to check out the forum here. I like that you guys do trips like that, love spending time out in the backcountry. I have a good friend who lives in Scottsdale so I come down to visit a couple of times a year, easy to do when retired.
Had a 2013 JKUR, I now drive a 2006 GX470 with a 3" lift, skid plates, rock rail and sometime this winter, bumpers. I have a home build M416 trailer I pull behind it to carry all my gear. I still tent camp, not sure I want to climb up a ladder at night.

Welcome! Nice looking rig.
I assume that's a Dinoot trailer, if so what frame did you use under it?

home build, a friend in ABQ, Fred build the frame. The frame is made to be used as the Off Road trailer with the box on, as a flat bed or as a stake bed if needed and made from 2" "C" channel and 2" box channel. The axle is a 3500lb to get me the 5x5 bolt pattern for the JK, but now had a 6x5.5 pattern for Toyota using 255/75/17 tires. The length of the tongue is adjustable from 6" to about 4' and the trailer now it has air bags and shocks for the suspension. The box is home made out of wood, a couple of 2x8 to give the 45 deg angle and then 1x2 for framing and ply wood for sides and top. The only major problem I have is covering the wood, so that it last and doesn't fade in colors.

I love the trailer, it lets me carry extra fuel, water and just about everything else I need. On a trip to Alaska and back with 2 other people, the trailer made the trip possible.

from a trip in the Gila last month that lead to air bag & shock suspension.
