Question U-bolt reuse
I seem to remember somewhere I read that if you remove an axle for some reason, when you placed it back into the vehicle you should use new u-bolts. I think it alluded to the possible stresses that the threaded ends were under prior and the possibility of them being weakened. I cannot remember if it was a bona fide article or a garage mechanic on a social media site. I got my axle back from a different shop and they were able to diagnose, identify, and fix my leaky axle seal problem. I am getting ready to mount the axle again. I am wondering if I can reuse my u-bolts. These u bolts are from after my vehicle disassembly. They really have only been used to put the axle back under the Jeep for towing purposes, and not have not been stressed by rock crawling or other such extreme use. There is no deformity and no deformation of the threads.

Unless they have been over-torqued, they should be fine...
