Default TJ Tailgate Table
I have been wanting a tailgate table for awhile and couldn't really justify paying crazy money for one so I decided to do it myself. After searching the wonderful internet world, I borrowed (stole) several of others ideas and made mine. I don't have in progress pics but here is the finished product. The only thing left to do is find a way to keep it closed. It stays now pretty well due to it being tight, but I still want to add something.

I used 1/2" x 3/4" aluminum angle to hold the wood, and 3/4" aluminum angle for the tailgate.
The table is made from birch wood. I got that from a friend. I put some marine varnish on it to help seal it.
The cables are 3/32nd steel cable.

Since this was a learn as you go project, I ended up with a couple extra holes here and there It works pretty well. Now I don't have to find space to make my sandwiches anymore

Benny.

Very nice. I need to try that. Use a magnet mounted in a shallow hole in the wood to keep it closed.

Good idea. Right now I just have a piece of velcro holding it closed.
