azjeep4me 1 Posted December 28, 2012 Now now. I was just dumping on Woody. Whispering Sands is a large motel in a small town. No chance in them not having rooms. Sam is correct. Its the only reasonable place to stay.
ZJ Woody 1 Posted December 29, 2012 Karen: You don't really think that I could sleep in the same room as snoring Jim,... do you? There are plenty of rooms at the Whispering Sands Motel. The only problem is that you won't be whispering when you see the price for a room,...you'll be YELLING ! Just short of a hundred bucks for one night's stay. Ladybug 252 Posted December 29, 2012 Holy Hair! Yepper - I don't know which of you two guys backed out of sharing a room the fastest!! LOL! Should be a fun trip! smiles, ladybug
Curly 515 Posted March 11, 2013 Sam, Still room? If so, sign us up! Curly
mbuckner 92 Posted March 12, 2013 Sam, Mark me as a possible please. I have a couple other things I need to see about re-arranging, but love the area... Also, I now gotta figure out how to carry an extra tanker-load of fuel for OlBlue... THX, Steve Steve, I have the same problem ... BUT, since Woody finally updated his ZJ to "trail rated", he indicated he could bring an extra 40 gallons of fuel (8x5 gal cans) .... Best regards, Mike
samwhite 1 Posted March 12, 2013 Tim, I have added you to the trip. Unless someone cancels we are full
ZJ Woody 1 Posted March 13, 2013 Steve, I have the same problem ... BUT, since Woody finally updated his ZJ to "trail rated", he indicated he could bring an extra 40 gallons of fuel (8x5 gal cans) .... Best regards, Mike This should be a great group and a fun trip. I just need to figure out what my gas mileage is going to be on the new rig. It has plenty of power with the 5.38s and I am hoping I can get over 10 and closer to 12 mpg on the trail. AND NO MIKE, I am not carrying gas for you like I did in Idaho. Woody
dzJeepChic 1,953 Posted March 13, 2013 This should be a great group and a fun trip. Woody It definitely should. I'd be all over it if we weren't going to Hawaii to our daughter's wedding. The Maze is for sure a fave, but I've never been to Hawaii, so I guess I'll have to miss it this time... You all better take a lot of pictures!
Ladybug 252 Posted April 4, 2013 MIke - did you cancel?? I certainly hope not, as it wouldn't be the same without you.... Sam - do we need to bring firewood, or are fires not permitted? smiles, ladybug
samwhite 1 Posted April 4, 2013 Karen, No fires in the backcountry!! That is pretty standard in every National Park in the west. You can bring a charcoal stove if you want to deal with the mess.
