If they ask you, be up front with them, tell them you can't access it unless the door is open and they'll probably just say keep your hands on the steering wheel. If you don't tell them and they find it, things can go south from there. When I have been pulled over in the past, I always keep my hands on the wheel except to roll the window down and usually turn on the dome light before the officer approaches if at night.

cool.

i fully agree with keeping hands on the wheel. i confirm verbally before taking them off - a simple "my insurance card is in the center console, i'm going to reach to get that now, ok?" - could be the difference between a routine stop and a tragic misunderstanding.

you probably get pulled over a lot, you seem like the kind that would always squeal em off the line leaving a stop ;) - how is the replacement XJ doing?

Doing ok, haven't done much to it as of late, too many life things getting in the way.

finally, someone is making a WJ front bumper where you cut out some factory steel so you can recess the winch - but then the bumper doesn't stick out like a big nose.

could stand to sweep up in the corners more for my taste, but doesn't look too bad. also not sure why they did a million little bends - would rather see it rolled to form a smooth curve or else really just do less bends and have more severe angles (i.e. make it look more like Greg's bumper).

Kris,

I suspect the multi-faceted look is the result of not spending the $$'s necessary to have a die-maker design & build a stamping die capable of pressing them from sufficient thickness material to hold up as a bumper.

Unless the business model shows the proposed product to be capable of providing sufficient sales volumes to offest the rather extensive costs of a press die, smaller volume pieces and components are faced with "getting close" to final desired shapes utilizing weldments consisting of several pieces cut and bent on a brake press (or similar) to match the basic shape you desire, then welding it all together to end up with the final desired product...

Just think of it as having that modern "edgy" look... :P;)

hes actually working on a different bumper at the moment too, more for the folks who have cut fenders and larger tires. but yea I do love this new design, wish I would have waited now before I bought mine but hopefully I can sell mine for a decent price to offset the cost of this one

Not bad, I like it. Surprised someone is making a WJ bumper. It says sold out on the site.

Oh and I carry a Kershaw spring assisted half straight half serrated blade knife every day of my life. I've carried many pocket knives in my life but once I got the Kershaw, I want nothing else. Plus its made here. I've sent it back to them for work and they fix it and sharpen for free. Couldn't be without it.

That REALLY needs lower radiator protection.....

Also, I know the "bubba gump" look isn't the most desirable, but it affords a certain amount of protection that is worth the "look".
