I heard on the radio this evening that a fill-in DJ in the morning is going to tell us 9 Things Men Would Never Do if Women Didn't Exist. I'm thinking along the lines of: eat using plates & utensils, wear cologne, fold clothes, etc.

This reminded me of that, as it is something only a single man would do since his woman would kill him for putting that stuff on the carpet. Cool stuff though, can't wait to see what you're up to. d

If it ever dies, I'll probably replace it with the Cobra 75 WXST just because it has an external speaker connector on it's base. Check out my other post here regarding these 2 small units.

I have yet to check your other post but when doing my research and talking to two other people about the cobra 75wxt and a CB shop that sells cobra but wont sell that particular model anymore I find that they are really hit and miss. the midland seems to be the better radio for reliability. functionality of the controls could be better but really easy to live with despite its shortcomings. the main thing is it works, does not take up the space we dont have for a conventional radio (I have a WJ as well). I just got my Midland and now going to get a firestik. I really enjoy your post/build thread.

When I have more done I will make a build thread here. it will be slightly different. I am building from top to bottom. right now after doing a budget lift. I am going for drivetrain changes up to the axles. those will be swapped much later. then protection, roof rack, radio, lights, cb radio, winch.

then long arm is the next phase, and finally axles, wheels and fender cutting to make room. the axles may have a gear change instore at that time or lockers. then it will be done. (probably will need a motor rebuild or transmision...LOL

yeah, after seeing a couple of different people have issues with the cobra, i would no longer recommend it.

that looks really really good and no flares like from Iceland offroad fibre glass units.

what are the specs on those? backspacing, rim width, and specific tiresize? great job.

some other questions. is that a 4' firestik antenna? where did the tails lights come from?

thanks!

i was running LT285/70 R17 KM2's, now i have 35 X 12.50 R17 KM2's

wheels are: Eagle Alloy Series 140 Black Wheels- 17"x8", 5 on 5, +2 mm offset, 4.517" BS, 29 lbs

i really like the wheel look, but i don't like how the valve stem sits way to close to the edge, i've sheered off 3 TPMS valvestems now. i actually had them remove the TPMS and put in regular short rubber stems this time in hopes that they have some "give" and can take the rocks better. would like to go with real beadlocks next year sometime, want to keep the same black center with polished ring style though.

some other questions. is that a 4' firestik antenna? where did the tails lights come from?

i was running a 3' firefly (a more flexible firestick) and a heavy duty spring, but when i put on the roof rack, it caused there to be some sort of little wind vortex right at the the back that would get the antenna whipping around like crazy and beating on the jeep every time i hit 75 MPH! so i took the spring off and that fixed the problem, but then the antenna didn't have enough give without the spring so i was bending my mount everytime i hit a branch.

so i recently swapped the firefly for this tunable whip: http://www.walcottcb.com/ms48-4ft-low-profile-cb-antenna-motorcycles-pickup-trucks-p-1714.html?cPath=28_352_412_420

it's plenty flexible without needing a spring, and has no real size or mass so it doesn't get caught up in the wind problem. i couldn't find a whip style one that was all black, if anyone finds one let me know.

tailights are just ebay, i like them, most everyone else doesn't ;) only thing i don't like is that they stick out the side further than i realized they did from the ebay pic, so i'm sure that a rock will kill them one day and i might try a different style then. i wish someone made the exact factory lights but with no amber, just red and clear, and a more modern deep red like these.
