So to cap off an awesome weekend, some crazy person has barricaded himself into his house (in our neighborhood) with his kid and a rifle. Before I start, it's all winding down and thankfully, nobody got hurt.

All this took place while we went to pick up dinner, and the police will not let anyone into the neighborhood. So we're sitting in the Jeep (like we haven't done that enough this weekend) with all our gear still loaded up, eating take out, and watching the cops stand around looking at each other.

UPDATE: The situation was resolved peacefully. They didn't give us any details other than that the child was safe. But that's the only important thing anyway.

That's for sure a topper for odd events at the end of a trip weekend, in close competition with when G&I hit an elk coming home from Monument Valley. In both cases I'm glad no one was hurt.
