Thanks Matt for the gr8 report and pictures. I knew when I took an overnight trip up on the rim road I left WAY too much unexplored:

Now I know it for sure. Going to have to start planning/hoping to take a much more thorough look at it the first week of next May (since the fire restrictions usually don't start until later).

 

I especially would like to look into Milk Point as that was way early on my trip and just went on by. That area has a Louis L'Amour feel to it.

 

And you are right about the road to General Springs cabin. It was rough for me last year, who knows how much more it might be washed out now.
