I know it had to do with Bouse (near Parker) and tanks, but I don't know what the area was called.
Are you asking about the DTC(Desert Training Center?) They told us it came East, almost to Phoenix, and went from Yuma up to the bottom of Nevada. It was HUGE!
Yes, that's what it's called. We've seen various parts of it around Yuma and also in California.
What Phoenix facility is located in a thick-walled adobe building that once housed prisoners of war?
Elks Lodge on Oak St.? Former Papago Park POW camp. The Elks are in the Building that used to house the Officer's Club.
If this is wrong, I still find it to be a fascinating piece of history about the area.
Building #40 in the picture below is the current Elks lodge, the last remnants of the POW camp.
