Glad you made it back safely!

 

my WJ's manual says 35mA of current draw max when everything is off, i would imagine most cars are similar.

 

i agree though that 100mA should be fine... a car battery should certainly not be dying overnight from a 100mA draw, not even from a couple Amps draw.

 

how old was that battery? and do you run a battery tender on it when you are storing your Jeep?

 

The main battery was 6 month old. I am not running a battery tender on it, but should maybe use one. Usually, the jeep is used every 3-4 weeks and before I started for the trip, the battery was also holding up to 4 weeks and the jeep was starting then.

My backup battery is 2,5 years old and still works fine.

might be, but the previous main battery (same type) also 'died' pretty fast. It is now my third main battery from the same type (Deka).
