Ladybug 470 Posted November 20, 2013 looks like fun I can't wait to hit this trail next week. who has the GPS tracks for this? I will check with Jim; he had it tracked out before we left, but we did not follow all of what he had tracked...so need to see if he adjusted. I think the differences were 1) the slot canyon and 2) the end of the Rawhide Trail, near the river. We followed the notes that I had from the Massey book, which was to turn left in the wash to follow the gas line road. smiles, ladybug

Ladylynn 0 Posted November 22, 2013 We are planning a run to the same area for Thanksgiving weekend. Do you have the GPS coordinates for the slot canyon by chance. We are having trouble pinning down exactly where it is. Thanks, Lynn

We are having trouble pinning down exactly where it is. Thanks, Lynn Lynn, One of the leaders of this trip, Curly, sent the waypoints of the Slot Canyon to theksmith and me. Kris plotted it on a Google Map: https://www.google.com/maps?q=34.29021,+-113.61987&ll=34.290242,-113.620815&spn=0.004432,0.006169&t=h&z=18 Hope that helps!!! Wow, from the talk on this forum there are going to be a number of groups out in that area over Thanksgiving. You all have fun, be safe, take lots of pictures, and be responsible public land users! THANKS so much Diane! Kris, are you able to put this into a kml or gpx file? We do have an updated file, as this one is the track before we left, and there are 4 deviations to that track. Jim sent it to me, but it appears that they need a different format. Totally agree, sounds like alot of people headed this way. Not sure that I'd be too comfortable crossing the Bill Williams River after all this rain, so hope everyone is safe. Another note...from Wickiup to Bouse, it was 115 miles. My fuel tank, and I get the worse fuel economy of all of the jeeps, was nearing 3 gallons by the time we got to Swansea, so I emptied my jerry can then....While I could have probably made it to Bouse without this, it was uncomfortably close...so you may want to carry fuel. smiles, ladybug
