Smurfy got new meats yesterday!!! We got a set of General Grabber AT2's which are remarkably similar to the new BFG KO2 A/T but substantially lower priced. They come with a 50,000 mile tread warrenty - BONUS! We went with 285x75x16 which is almost 33".

Looking good. I'm a little confused o the headliner repair. Did G paint the foam and re-install the foam to the hard backing, or paint the hard backing?

i believe he carefully pulled the headliner fabric off, leaving the foam attached to the board. then he put the roof coating right onto the foam and it kinda became one with it - leaving a textured rubbery finish. it looks great in person, and seems like it will be easy to wipe clean.

what he did is much easier than trying to scrape off the foam and paint the board, especially if his headliner "board" is at all like mine - a very very thin fiberglass material. nice job G!

K explained it perfectly - G maintained the foam and layered on the roof-coating solution. Part of the reason it took so long to dry between coats is the foam was just soaking it up. I'm very impressed with the results; you can't tell at a glance that the fabric is gone, except the finish has a slight sheen to it, and yet its durable and easily cleanable.

Cool beans. Looks sharp. Was just curious, as every time I've had one sag, chunks of the foam came off with the fabric. Perhaps it was because I wasn't as careful as G in removing it. :P

You raised some interesting questions, so I quizzed George and got more and better information. Apparently some of the foam came off as he peeled the fabric, so he caulked those spots.

I realized it's a great fix applicable to practically any vehicle, so I started a new thread under Multiple/Any Vehicle and explained the whole process better: http://offroadpassport.com/forum/showthread.php?p=41568#post41568

I don't have any insight about them yet because I just purchased them. The were about $172 per tire plus the install at Discount Tire; the BFG KO2's were well over $200 each plus installation. So far they ride great and are quiet. These are All Terrain's not a Mud Terrain's. I think they'll be great for what I want to use then for; mostly street and some moderate trails.
