4x4 Ham 7th Annual Field Day

  • The 4th full weekend of June.
  • June 27 @ 1800Z - June 28 @ 2059Z
  • Camp Friday and Saturday nights





  • To work as many stations as possible on any and all amateur bands (excluding the 60, 30, 17, and 12-meter bands) and to learn to operate in abnormal situations in less than optimal conditions. Field Day is open to all amateurs in the areas covered by the ARRL/RAC Field Organizations and countries within IARU Region 2.



  • Escape the Phoenix heat! 112 degrees or 82 degrees, you choose.
  • Camp out on the Mogollon Rim.
  • Socialize and get to know other 4x4 Hams.
  • Show and tell. Radio installations, 4x4 mods, antennas, etc.
  • Testing Session Saturday at 9am.
  • Pot luck meal.
  • Family friendly camp.
  • Eat BACON!!!


Get on the air:

  • We will have enough Extra class operators on site to act as control operator all weekend. What does this mean? Any Technician, General, or even someone without a license can use the radio with Extra privileges on HF under their supervision. It's a great opportunity to learn more about ham radio and get your feet wet.


VE Testing Session

  • 9am, Saturday, June 27th
  • Test for Technician, General, Extra
  • FREE, test session held by Phoenix Amateur Radio Team - http://www.phxham.com/


Pot Luck

  • Saturday, June 27th, around 6pm.
  • Potluck sign up will be added later.
