dzJeepChic 2,565 Posted February 21, 2016 A few weeks ago theksmith posted up a day trip to explore a route from Mayer to Cleator, AZ. Gearhead, Bernie t535, G & me followed k down a wash parallel to an old railroad track and sure enough it went through. We took a side trip to a large mining operation. Anyhow, I forgot to post pictures, but Bernie reminded me yesterday, so here you go. Here's a link to all the pictures! https://picasaweb.google.com/116271806008662880915/20160131MayerToCleatorAZ# Round house in Mayer: Stopped at an old trestle: K took us to an overlook he'd found on a prior trip: Approaching a rock crawl area: Bernie coming through: This is a tricky section: Bernie approaching the next tricky section: And killing it! Gear: Clifford: The wash widened out after that and we went quite a ways before exiting the wash through a gate next to a windmill: Then we took a graded road to the mine. Great scenery there. We walked around for a while looking at the remains of the mine.
