got her back Friday, seems to run fine now.

 

i looked over the engine quickly and found they didn't tighten the clamp on the air intake tube attaching it to the throttle body (at all, just hanging loose)... along with one air box clip not fastened and several of the wiring harness clips are broken - they didn't even re-attach all the ones they didn't break. this has been a typical experience for me with Airpark Jeep.

 

the parts list included a head & valves assembly, but other than that it's mainly just gaskets. looks like they re-used the camshafts.

due to my recent misfire issues and resulting cylinder head replacement, i made a change that i hope will reduce the temperature in that left head area: explanation/discussion here...
