theksmith 4,041 Posted June 13, 2020 (edited) a couple weeks ago i saw a deal on some rear alloy shafts that i just couldn't pass up - $287 for the set, shipped. i finally got around to installing them this week. these come with the bearings/seals already pressed on, a nice time saver. the only thing you have to do is thread the studs on (don't forget the red loctite). my drivers side rotor was rusted to the oem shaft really well. took a night soaking with PB Blaster to get them to separate! i used the old rotor-as-the-slide-hammer method and the shaft and race slid right out... the passenger side would not budget using that trick, so i had to run over to Autozone for a real slide-hammer loaner tool. finally, i had to trim all the studs about 1/4" to work with my Teraflex wheel spacers. while doing all this, i also found several of the guide clips on my rear brakes were twisted up or loose - one was missing completely. i was able to buy just the clips at Autozone for $6, but i'm curious why this happens? it's the second time i've found some of the clips out of place or mangled. theksmith 4,041 Posted June 19, 2020 been giving Gadget a little exterior love this week... touched up sliders, bumpers, and a few other places with Krylon Satin Black, and then all the plastic and rubber items got a rub down with 303 protectant.
