Intriguing! it's definitely higher pitched than those "train" horns you see with the 2 or 3 long trumpets - but it's still respectable and takes up way less space! i had a set of traditional PIAA horns before and i left the lower tone one of those installed along with this. i'll be sure to honk at you on Saturday so you can hear it!

theksmith 3,589 Posted January 11 (edited) ran into some trouble on the first front hub that i attempted. it would not engage consistently after final assembly of all the parts, and i wasted a fair bit of time trying to figure out what i'd done wrong. it turned out that the silver trim ring in the photo above was not machined correctly on the back side... not only is there a lip on the edge of the cutout shown above, but that entire pocket isn't centered between the screw holes like it should be. once i swapped in the other side's ring (which is cut correctly) everything worked fine. i emailed Teraflex about this and hopefully they can get me a new part shipped out quickly. i will say this is the first time i've ever had anything from Teraflex not fit perfectly right out of the box. theksmith 3,589 Posted January 11 (edited) shouldn't have to worry about breaking a stub-shaft anymore! the new dual-piston calipers are also massive compared to the OEM ones. one side of the front is complete! hopefully i can almost finish the other side this evening - except the locking knob and trim ring. then i can work on the changes to the spare tire carrier tomorrow while i wait on that new trim ring. theksmith 3,589 Posted January 13 made good progress the past couple days - Gadget's back sitting on 4 tires! the replacement engagement knob bezel should arrive today or tomorrow. then i can button up the last hub and go do the break-in procedure for those fancy new brakes. i finished modifying the Teraflex tire carrier with a plate for the new bolt pattern. i also kept my spare tire hoist, and just have to change the piece that grabs the wheel still. check out the the yuuuuuge new wheel studs. i'd be leary to trust my welding on something this susceptible to vibrations and potentially accident-causing. however, the new studs still go through the Teraflex mount partially, so even if i my welds broke the spare can't just fall off. waiting for the paint to dry before mounting the spare. i'll also need to modify my license plate quick-mount just a bit.
