Hi Kris,

I got everything ready for table accept those plastic clips. I can't find them.

Is it possible if you repost a link to amazon page for details because current one is broken.

Really want to get it done, hunting season is coming up. This table will be really huge help for me.

here's a new link to those clips i used, Toyota part #90189-05012. remember you have to file or dremel them a little thinner to fit in the top row holes...

 

or you can purchase a couple sets of the Springtail Solutions clips instead. i wish i could figure out what the original application for those was so i could find them in bulk.

 

the Toyota ones are still holding solid for me, so no problems using them other than that slight extra work up front.

 

 

also realized i never posted in this thread that i ended up staining my slide-out board. i got tired of oiling it as it would dry out often with all the dust from wheeling. the stain provides a slight waterproofing effect, though i may still need to put a coat of poly on it eventually. more details in my rig's build thread...

Can you provide any specifics on the screws you used, specifically to hold the backsplash to the tailgate? I've been struggling to figure out what length / kind to get for that section.

#8 by 1/2" screws worked well to hold the backsplash to the clips that i put in the tailgate. i used black (e-coated) automotive trim screws: https://amzn.to/2TJSF8r

 

most everything else i got from boltdepot.com (though a local Ace would have it probably too), here was my original shopping list. this might not be quite accurate for the final design, but it should give you something to compare to:

I've gotten some emails about this project, recently so I just wanted to mention a couple things...

 

1. I really appreciate the interest! The download link for the plans (in the post here...) DOES work, you just need to sign-up as a Supporting or Club member first. 2. It's been over 3 years and I made my 1 minor "fix" just this week...
   
   I originally used very short wood screws to hold the aluminum Z-rails onto the main plastic table but recently noticed some had pulled out of the upper rail. There just wasn't enough engagement into the 3/8" plastic for the weight placed on the slide-out bamboo section.
   
   So I replaced all of those wood screws in the upper rail with machine screws through the table/rail and into cap-nuts:
   
   
   
   Note that the lower Z-rail is also attached with wood screws, but it had an additional machine screw through the table on each end (because of the hinges). That lower rail has not pulled loose at all, so I think I could have gotten away with only using a through-screw at each end of this top rail too *if* I'd noticed it getting loose before several screws stripped out.
   
   Here's a photo of the new cap-nuts and one of the previously used shorty wood screws for reference:
   
   

 

This table setup is one of the most often used mods I've done to Gadget and no other problems, tweaks, or complaints still!

Hey everyone I know this post is a few years old but, I’m just starting this project had to make a couple of tweaks because of a goose gear platform which means I had to cut about a half inch off the bottom of the back splash and a half inch off of the back of the table portion. Also a cool idea that I had is putting a magnetic knife strip on the backsplash to hold tools or cooking utensils. And you can get blacked out cutting boards for the stealthy look. Great build, fun project!!

First off, Nice job on this forum! Very well done! Well worth the money! 

 

I had a question in reference to this build. I know this is  an older thread and I apologize if I am seeming dumb here. I have read the thread and just must be blind. I have downloaded the plans as well but I can't seem to find the material list. 

 

I would like to know what the black material is that you are using for the backdrop and self? If you have a link that would be great as well. No worries if not.
