Luckily, only the tread came off, leaving the carcass still inflated sufficiently to allow us to get off the freeway (the Pasadena 210, near Upton, CA), and change the tire in a bank parking lot... Enjoying the cool of Big Bear today, where we were lucky enough to find a tire shop with enough new tires to make us feel good about trying to cross the Mojave tomorrow... Curly 973 Posted September 19, 2016 I feel for you Steve. We blew a tire on our trailer just after going over a RR crossing just outside of Hawthorne, NV. Blew so badly it bent the rim! Anyway, we bought 3 new tires in Fallon NV. The Nevada Desert along 95 is a lonely place! Makes the Gila Bend- Yuma run look positively crowded!
