t535 0 Posted October 10, 2016 Cam (GCDAZ) amd I are planning a day trip to Old Ripsey Mine. This is a fantastic place outside of Kearney. After our last trip UI would put a moderate rating on this one. We are planning on the 22nd of October. Those that are interested please sign up. We shall have staging information as we get closer. Bernie We shall meet at 8:30 on Saturday Morning east of the intersection of SR 79 and Butte in Florence. Due to some possible parking restrictions the exact place will be within 1/4 mile of that intersection on the North side of Butte. This is across the road from the State Prison and a portion of that stretch may be posted. My cell number is 602-809-9990. Our cb radios will be on channel 4. The meeting place on Butte should be the first unrestricted area with room for about 6 vehicles within 1/4 mile of SR 79 Trip Leaders: GCDAZ T535 Attendees: Number 7 Bradwgn 71 Theksmith Kaspily Jkur (tentative) Coyotesfan KJ7DAN

gcdaz 5 Posted October 17, 2016 Bernie, You'll have to update the first post, but here's my suggestion for meeting: Let's meet at 8:30 on the corner of 79 and Butte in Florence. Here's a link: https://goo.gl/maps/iYt2sMPkHXt There was a "Prison Outlet" store on the northeast corner. I think the store is closed, but if the parking lot is still open, we will meet there. If it's closed, we'll have to line up along the road instead. This intersection is a couple blocks south of the McDonalds. Most of this trail is over rolling hills and up sandy washes. There are a few ledge roads, but probably only a couple washouts; we were able to drive over them without issues a couple years ago, but who knows now? The geology of the area is fascinating. It's a fun trip. Please make sure your State Trust Land Recreation Permit is up to date.
