Located in the cool pines near Flagstaff AZ, there's fun for everyone! Experience driving into the volcanoes at the Cinders OHV area! Spend a weekend tent or RV camping with Offroad Passport at an improved campground near Sunset Crater. Don't be that person hearing about all the great stuff you missed for the next whole year - sign up now! Event Details: Location: O'Leary Group Campground located approx. 13 mi. NE of Flagstaff, near Sunset Crater National Monument. Its an improved campground w/ water, tables, BBQs, vault toilets, electricity, etc. Click here for Map to Campground. Driving Directions to Campground: From Flagstaff, take I-40 to exit 201. Turn left and go toward Page (Highway 89). Go north on 89 approximately 13 miles to the entrance of Sunset Crater National Monument. Turn right toward Sunset Crater Visitor Center (on Forest Road 545a), go 1.7 miles to O'Leary Group Campground Road on the left (just before Bonito Campground). Pro-Tip: Pull up the driving directions before you get out of Flagstaff. Very iffy cell service out around the Campground! How you can help out: Bring some charcoal and lighter fluid for the BBQ.Bring firewood if you have room so we can have a campfire both nights.Bring your corn hole or other lawn games to play at camp.Familiarize yourself with Offroad Passport's Pet Policy Cinders OHV Volcano Bowl Trail Ride Details: Note that the campground is car accessible (paved roads), the following applies only to the optional Saturday trail ride...We rate The Cinders OHV area 4x4 Moderate. Stock high-clearance 4x4s are generally fine on the trails. Aggressive tread tires (such as All-terrain or Mud Terrain) are recommended. A 4x4 with *low range* is required. A solid frame-mounted tow point is required (trailer hitch, factory tow hooks, etc.). Airing down is required (if you don't have a compressor to air back up with, many of us do and will lend you some air!).We will be traveling on a paved road from camp to the Cinders OHV and back so vehicles must be street-legal/licensed or towed.CB Channel: 4 or Ham Frequency: 146.460 - (it's ok if you don't have either for this run)Be sure to you are at the campground before 9AM on Saturday if you're coming on the trail ride... and don't forget to pack a lunch & plenty of water! 2017 Cinders Event Sponsors: Please do visit our event sponsors web sites and social media feeds!
