Attention Arizona Hams,

We need you to take action! Support Arizona SB1132. http://www.azleg.gov/legtext/53leg/1R/bills/SB1132P.htm

This legislation makes the needed changes to get $17 of each $25 fee for the Amateur Radio Specialty Plate to benefit Amateur Radio in Arizona. Like all of the other specialty plates in the state, we want those funds to be directed to a 501c3 non-profit organization.

First, contact your Arizona Senator and Representatives from the House, urging them to sponsor or vote in favor of SB1132. Have your friends, spouse/significant other, children of voting age, family members, coworkers, or anyone else you know do the same.

1. Look up your Legislative District: http://azredistricting.org/districtlocator/

2. In each Legislative District, you will have 1 Senator and 2 House of Representatives. Use the respective links below to find your 3 members of congress. Use their email@azleg.gov or call them, requesting they support Arizona SB1132.

January 21, 2017

Dear Senator/Representative NAME,

As a licensed Amateur Radio operator in Arizona, I request you support SB1132. The proposed changes are supported by the national organization American Radio Relay League (ARRL) and the state organization Amateur Radio Council of Arizona (ARCA). The Arizona Amateur Radio specialty plate is the only one not funding a 501c3 organization.

Amateur Radio has a rich history in Arizona with support going back to the days of Barry Goldwater, K7UGA. With the $17 from each $25 plate fee, we will be able to increase educational scholarships that are awarded each year. Other funds will be directed to benefit amateur radio clubs to provide educational opportunities and strengthen systems in place for emergency communications.

I thank you for your support of SB1132, amateur radio operator special plates.

Sincerely,

Your Name, Call

Thank you everyone for your support and we hope to see you Tuesday afternoon.
