Azoutlaw480 0 Posted March 16, 2017 Original posting date was cancelled and we have re-scheduled for 4/15. This would be for Saturday morning the 15th. We'd like at least 3 vehicles on this one since we're not sure what the trial will look like. Meet spot would be at the intersection of the 188 and 288 at 10am. There is ample parking on the side of the road at this intersection. I hear this is normally a nice easy/mild run. No rock crawling, just a few short rock gardens maybe. It has been mentioned that after the recent rains, there is a huge rut down the middle of the trail within the first .5 mile. So we will see what this looks like as of recent! Should be about 8-10 miles round trip. Most of the time spent at the top exploring and assessing the trail. owenb_ 0 Posted March 17, 2017 Count me in! I think rockrails should be strongly recommended on this one. That washout near the start was pretty rocky from what I could see. It may be possible to bypass it through the wash but I'm not sure what that looks like.
Azoutlaw480 0 Posted March 17, 2017 Well I dont have rock rails but do have pretty decent clearance on the XJ. Im going to rely on perfect tire placement!
Azoutlaw480 0 Posted March 17, 2017 I was able to find a pic of the rut in question online. This is from another off-road website. Doesnt look too bad I guess, Im sure it may have gotten worse. Picture taken in November of 16. Owenb I think you mentioned this rut in the older run thread I deleted. Were you referring to this rut in the link, how long is this section? http://www.jeeptheusa.com/uploads/1/3/5/0/13502613/e-angel-wings-washout.png
