CB Etiquette

Recommended Posts

Alright I just got a CB for my bday!!

Hoping to install before the run on the 15th.

Just wondering if there is an ORP or universal CB etiquette to abide by.

I know some peeps may have a couple pet-peeves about CB usage, so lets hear em!

I ordered up a SWR meter to tune the antenna. Should be here Wednesday.

i think everyone here is pretty informal about CB stuff...

just remember to not ramble on too long in a single transmission so that if someone needs to jump in with an important message they can (like "oncoming car" or "hard left before giant drop-off", etc.).

I'd also add to make sure to hang your mic up and not leave the button pressed. Then we can hear you talk about us ;)

X2 about being careful about rambling on the CB. It's tough when you're leading a trail but you can't get a word in to tell the group what's coming up as in oncoming, a turn, or, god-forbid, LUNCH! :D
