theksmith 4,019 Posted May 18, 2017 Beyond this current planning session - We want to extend an open invitation to anyone, anytime that needs help planning a trip that they want to lead... Whether it's a day run, multi-day expedition trip, for club members or open to anyone - doesn't matter! Just PM myself or dzJeepChic with what you're thinking and how we might help. We can research permits, trail conditions, help find tracks/waypoints, etc. I know some folks are also intimidated to start the new thread and might want help with the post, the calendar, or need help getting photos posted and so forth - we're happy to help with that as well. Also, no-one needs to ever ask permission from us to post a trip (unless it costs money or is a private event). This is an open forum and the whole idea is for people to share runs! Even if the event overlaps with one of our big runs, that's fine! Cross-posting runs, cleanups, meetups, etc. from other clubs/forums/facebook is great too (so long as the event is open to anyone). Thanks in advance to anyone willing to lead a run! Honestly leading isn't as big of a deal as you might think. You don't have to pre-run every trail or know an area by heart so long as you are up-front with people on the sign-up thread about what to expect. We lead plenty of "exploratory" runs that are brand new to us! On the other hand, if you do have a favorite trail you could run blindfolded then please consider just posting the next time you're going to run it... it's really a great feeling to share a place with someone that has never been there. EDIT: I wanted to add that you can always set a rig limit if you don't like leading more than say 5 or 10 people, organize the trip with whatever rules make you comfortable.
