I got a JK for the RV

Recommended Posts

Finally got a bunch of stuff done on the Jeep. I think I am about done for now. We plan to leave in the RV in a few weeks after our house sells. I installed the Rock Slide Engineering step sliders and my Hardline fenders from Metalcloak. Not a bad install except for all the damn nutzerts you have to add. What a pain in the butt. I ended up breaking my Smittybuilt nutzerts tool. Also added a strip of lights on my back window like Kris did (theksmith). Great right up he has!! I also ended up adding some undercoating to my rear fender well after I took off all the stock stuff. I didn't like all the silver in the fender wells. There are some before and after pics of what it looked like with the stock fenders compared to the tube fenders. The pics of the lights were taken in my garage with it pitch black. Sorry for the sideways pics. For some reason my computer post them sideways.

Jeep looks great!

I agree, the undercoating in the wheel wells is a nice improvement in looks.

I can’t believe how much light the LEDs on the glass provide

Yeah it is crazy bright. It is hooked up to a dimmer switch so I can dim it a lot if needed.

It's been awhile since I update this post. We have been on the road for about 6 months with the Motorhome and JKU. We are in the valley until January then we are heading out again. This time staying in the lower 48.

I have been able to fix some things and do some upgrades on the JK. I smashed my exhaust, bent the crap out of my Rockslide Engineering step sliders, trashed both stock drive shafts and needed to fix a spring perch.

I replaced the stock exhaust with a Magnaflow cat back exhaust which is pretty loud. I was able to do a little cutting and grinding to get my bent step slider to work again. I added front and rear Adams driveshafts 1310 front and 1350 rear.

To fix the spring perch and make the rear passenger spring sit right I had a Artec truss installed onthe rear axle with new perches welded in the right location. Works great now.

I finally relocated the evaporation canister using the Metalcloak bracket. Tons of room under there now. I also installed the Metalcloak skid plate system. I love, love the skid plates. They are very beefy and zinc coated. Great coverage.

Next project when we get back is to add chromoly axles and re-gear then move up to 37" tires.

Here are few pics of before and after. Follow along with us on Facebook at Fishclanadventures
