Bradywgn71 302 Posted November 16, 2017 This is one of our favorite trails. It certainly was a lot more challenging but to camp by the river is so worth it. Here is the link to Day one photos: https://photos.app.goo.gl/3zeC4foMooCXm7mC2 Here is the link to Day two photo album: https://photos.app.goo.gl/2FTQ76CmA2xTNMCl2 It is a very long dirt road until you get to this sign at the turn off towards Red Creek: So many scenic views. It was cool to run this trip in the fall and see the leaves changing in the creek area The fun root section. Lots of skid plates used in this area. This was much deeper than the last time we drove this. Wheels up Jeff scaring Katie: Chris playing: Scott enjoying the trail Pesky rock in the way hung up several people as we tried to go around the other Jeep group I sadly didn't get any pictures when we tried to become a submarine in the very deep water hole in the trail. Our winch and the air box were inches away from being swamped. The group ended up splitting up with four continuing on to camp by the river. We wee a bit worried about coming back through the harder rock section with the deep water spots but thankfully that turned out to not be a problem now that we knew where the spots to avoid were. Our Day Two Camp spots by the Verde River: Would love to spend an entire day weekend camping by this. Such a cool area We hiked a short way up the rock face to the Indian ruins. Lots of houses and we found a piece of pottery and some of the rock grinding stone areas. Views from up there: stone house in the foreground Driving back out the trail to meet the rest of the group: Staying left to avoid the swimming hole Tiffer using every skid plate Happy Trail Pup Playing on the obstacle after getting through the harder area I missed where Chris got his left rear tire way up in the air
Bradywgn71 302 Posted November 16, 2017 More from red creek. On our way back we were in the lead and took a wrong turning. Tiffer ended up backing over a large boulder and playing turtle. After this we headed back to meet up with the other campers and continue back through the root section We decided to go home bloody basin road since it would get us to the I-17 and easier to the west side of Phoenix. The road was narrow and climbed up more than we expected. However the views were great and the road was in good condition. It went through the Agua Fria National Monument. Someplace to check out in the future. We had an awesome time and got some much needed Offroad Therapy! Thanks to everyone!

theksmith 1,355 Posted November 16, 2017 thanks for posting the trip report guys, and the videos! Sarah - which camera are most of those photos shot with?
Bradywgn71 302 Posted November 16, 2017 Day one is all with my cell phone Samsung Galaxy S8. Day two is with my cheap point and shoot Olympus. Not liking the point and shoot. I had to do a lot of editing for proper light exposure with Google Photos. I will be looking for a newer point and shoot camera. One I don't mind dropping in the water
