Waterholes canyon and white pocket

Recommended Posts

Last weekend we returned to the White pocket area with a stop at Horseshoe bend and hiked Waterholes canyon. We hiked to the end of Waterholes canyon Jim and Alison braved the sketchy ladder at the end of the trail. Cool canyon and only need a $12.00ea permit to check it out.

It’s a great hike isn’t it?

Believe it or not, I think the ladder you found is an improvement over what I found last October. The black, upper extension seemed to be a piece of what looked like porch rail!

For anyone else considering this hike, don’t let the ladder spook you. If you only go as far as the ladder you aren’t cheating yourself because IMHO you get the majority of the best stuff before the ladder.

The ladder is flipped over so the rail is now on bottom but next time who knows. Seemed stable but like you said all the good stuff is before that spot. The entire hike is pretty amazing and not hard at all, definitely worth the trip.
