Smartphone time?

Recommended Posts

George and I are probably the last two people on Earth that still use flip-phones and I'm thinking that it may be time to upgrade. My carrier is Consumer Cellular (the cheap old farts carrier). They've always piggybacked off of AT&T but I think they've recently switched to T-Mobile. I'm a total idiot on these new-fangled contraptions.

My choices are iPhone, Samsung, or Motorola. I would buy an older model one. HELP!

i personally hate iPhones, but if you're not technology-savvy, it's probably your best bet.

I'm leaning towards the Samsung. I hear that it's more manly.

That's what I'm afraid of. That and the fact that The Bible warns against them.

I'm the 3rd hold out. No smart phone here. I'll keep my $20 flip phone.

I held out for a long time. I got one and I can't believe I waited so long. It is the best tool I own. Everything from YouTube instruction videos, tech manuals, and maps are available at your fingertips almost anywhere.

I held out until mid last year ... I had a 10+ year old Motorola flip phone that worked ... but the family put the pressure one me to get a smart phone ... so far I have not regretted getting a Samsumg J7.

I would say probably iphone. You don't need a X or 8, a 7 would be a good bet (less expensive, but still fairly recent). You can get the lowest memory (32 gb) if you won't store a bunch of stuff on it.

If you want to customize your phone more you can try android. You can get lower priced phones if you go this route, but I'm not sure what to recommend since I am one of the mindless sheep with an iphone. :)

lol, you're a funny sheep!

Marcus, if you do get an Android, i'd say Samsung is your best bet for ease of use and compatibility with cases/mounts/etc. Gear is spot on about Android phones being less expensive (on average) and much more customizable.
