Elkpakr 31 Posted April 22, 2018 After a month or so's work, here is what we did: Front axle: truss, C gussets, sleeves, chromoly shafts, high steer knuckles, rotors, calipers, Warn lock out hubs. Cross over steering with hiem jointed drag link, tie rod, & track bar. Adjustable lower front control arms. Rear axle: Eaton E-locker (original stock locker was shedding teeth), chromoly shafts, rotors, calipers. 17" wheels and tires. Whew! Now it gets to set until we get back next fall to test it out. theksmith 3,667 Posted April 23, 2018 sounds like some nice upgrades... but what a bummer you don't get to play with it right now!
dzJeepChic 2,380 Posted April 23, 2018 Wow that's a lot of stuff! I'm with K, it is a huge bummer you don't get to drive it right now. Safe travels home & back, and see you in the fall.
Zeep 2 Posted April 27, 2018 Curious to see how things work for you. I have the same rig, still mostly stock. Currently, I am waiting on Savvy under armor, which is back-ordered. Can't wait to rid myself of the factory shovel!
Elkpakr 31 Posted May 2, 2018 Curious to see how things work for you. I have the same rig, still mostly stock. Currently, I am waiting on Savvy under armor, which is back-ordered. Can't wait to rid myself of the factory shovel! So far, so good. No wobble at any speed over bumps on the highway with NO stabilizer. I think highsteer and getting rid of the unit bearings are the best mods . If I had it to do over I think I would just buy a Dynatrac or G2 front axle instead of modifying the stock. I need to replace the beat up skid plate so let me know how the Savvy works out. Peace & Grace Dick
Zeep 2 Posted May 10, 2019 I installed the under armor last fall. everything seems to be working out well. I'm still piecing together some wiring, so that I can relocate my locker pumps. I located some 3 wire connectors from the bone yard, so that I can make a extension harness, to locate the pumps up near the ABS tray. I will update when the weather finally breaks here. Still chilly and wet here!
Elkpakr 31 Posted March 30, 2020 New camp kitchen box for the Jeep. The camp stove fits in the bottom. I used sealed containers to help keep out the ever present dust. The refrigerator fits in front of the box on the slide out tray.

Well, gave it a good test last year, transfer case ate a bearing that ate the case so now it has an Atlas transfer case and Tom Woods drive shafts.
