ChrisD 17 Posted July 24, 2018 From the mall-crawlin’ folks, who brought you March Madness: ROCKTOBERFEST is three of the Kingman area’s most difficult runs in three days. We’ll warm up on Devil’s Dip and move on to the first challenge – Serendipity with it’s legendary Gatekeeper. Day 2 will find us a stone’s throw from historic Oatman, AZ. At Hard Ass with a gatekeeper that makes Serendipity’s feel like a warmup. Day 3, is Pig Iron. A run east of Kingman in the Hualapai Mountain foothills, that simply takes no prisoners. On Serendipity, we’ll do the balancing act through the gatekeeper, but then we’ll do the “WHOLE” Serendipity trail, including all three waterfalls. At Hardass, you’ll find out very quickly, why a winch is required. If yours doesn’t work you won’t make it through the Gatekeeper. Pig Iron is typical Kingman brutal – big rocks (that move) and loose sand. Even a lot of the local hardasses take a pass when it’s time to take a shot on this one. Rocktoberfest stickers will be available to all participants with trail stickers for every vehicle that completes a trail. A limited number of Rocktoberfest T-shirts will also be available. Meet at the Powerhouse Visitor Center in Kingman at 9 a.m. each day and convoy to the trailhead. Three days of grade 7 to 9 trails and obstacles. Assigned spotters will be available. REQUIREMENTS: 33-inch tires or larger, high clearance, front and rear lockers, winch, recovery points, roll bar, cage or hardtop, fire extinguisher – none of the preceding will be waived. Must be willing to accept body and/or mechanical damage. Must register and submit a signed waiver. Registration is possible now on Offroaddance.com The number of run registrants will be limited. Pre- and post-run events will be held at Black Bridge Brewery in downtown Kingman.
