Update: 1994 Chevrolet K1500 4x4 Suburban 

Finally completed the re-gear to 4.56  from stock 3.73 to accommodate lift, weight and larger tires.

Second Update:

Retired the CB Radio for GMRS: https://midlandusa.com/products/mxt275-micromobile-two-way-radio

 

This is overall a much better experience on the trail than CB.  With a decent aftermarket antenna the radio is as high quality sound and reliability as a HAM radio on 70cm.  I am still running the Ham radio VHF/UHF from a HT in the cab with external antenna.

Two reasons. And One 

 

1. I wanted the new features of the glide top to ease up/down and window removals. 

2. The 11 year old top was torn in places, all zippers were jamming and the rear window zipper was flat out broken.

3. It was a gift from my dad 🙂
