Oak Flat near Superior, AZ Meetings

Got this email. Help keep trails like Hackberry Creek open in this area.


The US Forest Service will host 5 public meetings starting September 10 in Superior, AZ, on Rio Tinto's proposal to destroy Oak Flat and thousands of additional acres of public land.

The Tonto National Forest has prepared a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on Rio Tinto's proposal and the meetings will explain the project and its impacts to our communities and the environment.

Please attend one or more of these public meetings hosted by the US Forest Service to learn more about the proposed project and to express you opinion.

You will have an opportunity to ask questions and to comment on the proposal.

The Arizona Mining Reform Coalition and our member groups will be at the meetings to assist you in commenting and to explain problems with the proposal.
