shellback91 1,733 Posted August 16, 2021 I follow this dude on YouTube who bought Cerro Gordo mining town. He is rebuilding it so people can come visit and along the way preserving the history. There is a a company that wants to start an open pit mining effort in the area surrounding the town, essentially destroying the area. There is an open comment period until 8-30 with BLM if you feel so inclined.(Link in the video description) This is an area that I would like to visit someday and to not get a chance to do that would be a bummer.
