Fun or not so smart..

Recommended Posts

For a bit of fun and concern I’d thought I’d post this lol.

I got excited finding a puddle not too long ago on a trail ride through Bulldog Canyon. Brother joked if I was trying to get water in my engine.. I’m sorry guys I couldn’t help it.. temptation and all🙈 was this a bad thing to do? … I mean, it made me feel like a little kid in the moment haha. But I don’t want to break something out of negligence. *Self control Deli.. self control*

**think I fixed the video. Uploaded it in mp4 and compressed it. Scroll down!

Not sure how your link is set up but it's wanting me to save it, not letting me view it.

Hmm just tried to upload it again.. I’m doing it from my iPhone photos Is there a better way?

sorry kids...

@Trail Toy - this site's software doesn't have the ability to stream that type of video file itself, so you'd have to download Deli's movie file to view it.

@d3lbort - if you upload the file to Youtube or Vimeo instead, then you can just paste the link in your post and that will embed a video player. or you could upload it to Google Photos or another site and then link to it as well, but that won't put a player in the post (it will just be a link instead).

edit - NM, i see you uploaded a different file format here and that's working - yay!

it's probably not the best idea in terms of potential to suck a small amount of water into the intake. but i was still guilty of some big splashes before i knew it wasn't considered Treading Lightly...

here in the desert, it's not good because the mud coats the nearby plants, which then kills them since we don't get enough heavy rain often to wash it all off. dead foliage is of course ugly, but it can also contribute to trail widening as some people will try to go around the mud once there aren't as many plants in the way.

it's not nearly as big of a deal in areas like the PNW where things are always wet, but still maybe not great trail etiquette in terms of reducing our impact on the environment.

sorry to be a buzzkill - like i said, i didn't know any better at one time either:

No worries, that makes total sense.. thank you! Honestly, I have never thought of it that way. I’ll be sure to be more mindful next time. Those are definitely things to consider. We definitely want to be trying to preserve the environment as much as possible while keeping trails open
