1/8/2022: 12th Annual Holiday Party Trail Ride BBQ Gift Exchange Cookie Contest: near Nothing, AZ: 4x4 Easy

Recommended Posts

for you campers, there are several small dispersed camping pull-out areas off the Burro Creek West Road that goes north-east out of Nothing.

the first mile or 2 of that road should be suitable for mid-sized RVs, or even a larger 5th-wheel, etc. - the last time i was there it was very nicely graded hard-packed sand.

bummer guys, you could definitely find a place to dry camp with your RV somewhere out there - but i do realize you practically have to take out a loan just for the fuel to move that beast!

Yeah bummed but between the diesel cost and health stuff we just can't work it out this year.

the 60 to Wickenburg is tame, but then you take the the 93 from there to Nothing and that does have some major hills - thought it's not nearly as curvey as the 87 Beeline.

Thanks!  Although I think I will bring the ZR2 instead of the Cherokee.  With these gas prices  the 270 miles would eat up a lot of money in gas in the Cherokee.    If I am judicious with the throttle on the zr2 I will use less than half the gas I would with the Cherokee.

Getting set to cook the burgers and looking forward to seeing everybody next weekend!! I'm shopping for meat a few days ahead, and will get the final head-count then. I'll let you know how many buns then @shellback91 & @4x4tographer Right now I'm estimating 25 people - hope more sign up!

Shared this old pic of the cookout on FB this morning. Almost posted 'we'll be cooking in nothing this year' but didn't want to falsely advertise it. 😂

Sounds like a great time! Add us to the list, please. We can bring some chips, homemade green chile dip, and can also bring a table if needed.  Also looking to camp overnight as well...maybe 2 nights?

I just updated the first post indicating how many people in each party that I'm estimating. Please check it out, and if I'm wrong about yours, please let me know. :)

Wife and I will be coming out Friday night and camping. We can bring some chicken breasts or whatever you need. Let me know. Are the rides something I take my 2500 RAM w/ FWC popup or SXS?. How long are they?

We don't have room chicken breasts; we'll have plenty of meat to cook on the grill. Could you bring some kind of side dish to share or chips & dips or something? I noticed nobody's down for soft drinks or bottled water, do you want to bring one of those?

I wouldn't take your Dodge and camper on the trail; there are a couple of places where it'll get hung up based on length alone, and with camper I think it would be worse. a SxS would work!!

Sounds good on the buns @dzJeepChic. We’ll standby on those.

For our side(s), we’re planning to bring Apple Smoked Baked Beans and Potato Salad.

Oh, and cookies for the Cookie Contest 🥰

Any other gaps you guys need filled? Happy to bring whatever!

Last question, seems like we’re the only ones with kids this year. Right? Just asking from the perspective of the kids gift exchange.

Looking forward to Saturday!!
