shellback91 1,300 Posted March 20 (edited) Thanks again to everyone that joined us on this run. It was good to see some familiar faces and meet some new members of the ORP family. We did not get many pics today so I am looking forward to seeing what the group took. The attendee's today were: @Curly @We Just Go @Bradywgn71 @gearhead @Richard Anderson @J2DXPLR The weather was perfect today from start to finish, light breezes and not too warm. The ground was still a little damp so dust was not an issue until Bloody Basin Rd. We started out on Dugas Rd and headed east, nothing exciting here to report. Once we reached Reimer Rd we headed south. This trail was easy with no major challenges and with what I thought was some great scenery. along the way. There are some good spots to camp along this trail. The name of the game along this trail was cattle, lots of cattle. Bulls, Cows and calves were everywhere and they happily watched as we passed by, like this guy did. We stopped towards the end near Dugas Rd. for a quick break before tackling the rest of the days trails. We then hit Dugas Rd and headed east to Silver Creek where I almost missed my turn because I was eyeballing a cool house on the hill. Silver Creek is rated as moderate which I agree with overall. It is two track & really narrow in sections from start to finish which made avoiding on coming SXS's that were hauling a#$ challenging. The northern section is on the high end of that rating to me. Dropping down into the creek crossing and going through the gate was easy enough. The next few miles were fun to say the least. For my own sanity after the second crossing I had to get out and make sure where the trail went. The next few miles from here to where you climb out on top were rocky, off camber, rutted, narrow with some steep climbs mixed in, in other words a ton a fun. 4 Low and a slow and steady pace is your friend here. This was a fun section for sure that everyone cleared with no issues. I did not get any pictures here. Because of the terrain I did not want to stop anyone's momentum, especially mine, getting through. I think this trail is a little more washed out than in the past, @Curly has run it a few times so he may have a better perspective. Once on top the trail is a moderate all the way to the end. Good mix of terrain and scenery on a two track road. There were a few groups of SXS's and motorcycles that we ran into along the way. Overall a great trail. We ran this south to Bloody Basin Rd. then out to I-17 which we made by mid-afternoon. We found a wide enough are to pull off into for lunch near a cattle watering and pen area. As you can see someone raided the ice chest first. Selfie time. Edited March 21 by shellback91 5

We Just Go 184 Posted March 20 Thank you @shellback91 Marty for planning, postponing for better weather and leading this trail. Fun day with everyone along with beautiful AZ scenery. Always looking forward to the next trip with this great group of off-road explorers. 5
J2DXPLR 72 Posted March 20 Thank you Marty @shellback91 for the great trail report and leading the run. We could not have asked for a better weather and conditions. We definitely had a blast meeting the ORP family and looking forward to joining on future runs. We did not take too many photos, but grabbed some screen captures from our GoPro, phone and drone video footages. There were not an abundance of drone footages because I was voiding flying close to private lands and where there were power lines. But we got a few nice shots of the overall landscape for sure. I hope to get the video edited and published within a few weeks. There is definitely a back log of trail running videos because we are hitting new trails faster than I can edit them. Please stay tuned as I will publish the video on our YT channel - J2DXPLR. Screen captures from video footages. 7

AZRNintheJeep242 380 Posted March 20 (edited) Uh oh @4x4tographer looks like you're gonna have some competition for video compilation for ORP runs coming your way! Edited March 20 by AZRNintheJeep242
Richard Anderson 11 Posted March 22 had a great time, thanks for allowing me to go with you. Sorry about the end of the trail, when we turned onto the dirt road to head back, I got unbelievable stomach pains and drove super slow holding up Tim and his wife (teal Jeep) for which I didn't get to apologize for, SORRY. Got to Anthem and got some drugs to help me out, (wife carries them in her purse, but she had other plans that day and I didn't think of them ) Been years since I needed them. * I thought I had to explain my quick departure as I wanted to get to know the group. My exit made it appear I was unsocial able - I can assure you I'm not.
