Need bung welded into new oil pan. Where do I go?

Recommended Posts

I have a brand new oil pan and before I put it on my rig I need a bung welded in (1/4" NPT) for a temp sensor.   I am thinking radiator shop or just find a 'welding' place?  Or maybe a fabricator?

Thoughts?

And you guys know anyone in the McKellips/Lindsey area of Mesa?

Any decent welding shop should be able to handle that.   If it's steel, you might consider brazing or silver soldering the bung in place.    ;)

A welding or fabrication shop is your best bet. Most radiator shops don’t handle custom work like that anymore. Look for a local fab shop that does aluminum or steel welding (depending on your pan). You could also check with off-road or performance shops they often do sensor bung installs.

In the Mesa area, try shops like RPM Fab or AZ WELD & FAB they’re known for doing small custom jobs. Just call ahead to make sure they handle oil pans.
