New battery jumper

Recommended Posts

funny enough, i had to retire my Noco GB70 this weekend. i found it could no longer jump-start the Jeep, even if connected directly to the rig without the dead battery bringing it down.

i've had it since 2018 though, and it'd been in the Jeep in this hot AZ climate the entire time (taken out every 3 to 4 months to top off the charge). i've lost track of how many times it had worked successfully over the years though it had failed to start @Bradywgn71's Lexus recently too. i had chalked that up to a severely discharged battery (and we didn't try disconnecting the dead battery that time).

FYI, there were no signs that it was going bad, it still charged OK, read as fully charged, and still seemed like it was working. it just couldn't deliver the large burst of current needed to turn over the engine. seeing as it was no longer useful after 7 years, i'm thinking you should probably just plan to replace these type of jump packs every 5 years to be safe.
