theksmith 5,778 Posted October 30, 2025 (edited) we went just south of Stoneman Lake last weekend for our anniversary. it's about 6,400ft - a little lower than where we typically go on the rim because of the weather. highs where 67 which was perfect. lows dipped down to 30, which was fine in the camper with the heat - we didn't even notice it got that cold. probably was still in the low 40s' when we went to bed and sitting around the fire that wasn't bad either. theksmith 5,778 Posted November 11, 2025 (edited) out again enjoying the trailer this past weekend! we're getting better at managing our tanks. we made it Thursday morning through Monday afternoon and managed to fill the black and gray tanks to only about a half, with more than half of our fresh water still remaining. our battery bank was at about 50%, and that was with Aimee and I both working over 2 full days - i.e. besides the normal trailer stuff we had the Starlink mini sucking power most of the time and 60W and 100W laptops charging during the weekdays, along with 2 phones and an iPad. on the way home we gave Freya and the trailer a quick bath at the Camp Verde car wash Edited November 11, 2025 by theksmith 8 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

theksmith 5,778 Posted March 6 (edited) several small mods/accessories for the trailer over the past couple weeks... $30 for a small flip-up table that was just the right size to add some additional counter space. the end of the counter is just a thin panel so i added a support inside for the table brackets to screw into. i also noticed each drawer slide only had a single screw at the back, so i added a couple more in the available slots. and of course nothing is straight/square or even consistently off... the front bracket sat plumb but the rear, only 20" away, needed to be shimmed substantially to level the flip-up table. changed out the dated 2.4A dual USB wall chargers for modern ones with 100W PD capability on the USB-C port and 18W fast charge on the USB-A port. we've keep a couple of these Baseus retractable USB-C cables in the trailer to connect laptops or phones to the chargers. they are longer than most retractable at 6-1/2ft and support a full 100W charge. also picked up this 3 slot vertical laptop/tablet holder to reclaim our dinette space when we aren't working but still want to leave our devices connected to the charger and easy to get back at. you'll notice the fake plant in the last photo - we added several around the trailer. they're all Velcro'd in place so they don't go flying off on bumpy roads but can be moved or taken off to clean around easier. also Velcro'd down a few other decorations, including this retro clock and a floating photo frame (the phot is from our trip into Canyon de Chelly many years ago). added an Ikea slim shoe storage box just inside the door. we didn't feel the built-in hanger bars were the best way to store clothes in the wardrobe cabinets at the sides of the bed. instead we found these stackable plastic cubbies that fit just right width-wise. their little doors were easily removable and then i built a single shelf inside each cabinet (just above the bed-side access holes), and could fit 4 of the cubbies on the shelf on each side. also the offset handle inside the front door feels like you're going to rip it off every time you pull it hard enough to latch. i added a short 1" wide cloth strap closer to the edge where you actually need to be pulling. the strap is just sandwiched behind the OEM handle/latch contraption. the strap doesn't interfere with the screen door when it's closed before the main door either. The single screw, in a slotted hole no less, makes me want to scream, and it’s not my trailer. Yes, you start with one screw during installation and open and close the drawer a couple of times to let it find its “happy place”. Then carefully remove the drawer and add a couple additional screws, preferably in holes not slotted. You didn’t even have that option! Disgusting workmanship! I just did a reinforcement similar to your pocket hole screwed brace on the Neighbor’s toy hauler. A factory installed towel bar they were using to dry ski socks and gloves over a heater vent pulled right thru the cabinet side! Rant over! 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
theksmith 5,778 Posted April 20 (edited) warranty work the trailer was at the dealer for several weeks for the first couple warranty repairs we've asked for. sheesh the RV industry moves slow! they replaced the main 4" dump-valve (black tank). it had been leaking a small amount whenever we'd move the trailer. we'd already changed the cap to a clear one, so at least it wasn't a surprise the first time it happened. we had suddenly developed a sewer smell in the camper after towing it back to storage last time. the dealer replaced a seal... i'm not sure if it was the toilet-to-flange seal or something under the floor. i know it wasn't just the toilet flush/flap seal (the bowl held water just fine). they also fixed the grey tank vent pipe not going all the way through the roof to the vent on top (so grey tank vapors would route outside correctly). they said the black tank seal they replaced was the main reason for the smell though. we went camping this past weekend and everything seemed OK till we towed back to the storage area. after we dumped, parked and then went inside the trailer to unload - a strong sewer smell again! i'm wondering if the black tank isn't secured properly and so all the jiggling and frame flexing on gravel/dirt roads with the extra weight of it nearly full is causing a seal to tear or a pipe crack. anyone have any ideas about this issue? camping near Rimrock anyway, we had a nice time camping with our friends Bill & Rakell kind of near Rimrock/Lake Monetzuma area. Brady tent camped with us one night too, and B's friend Zyler & his GF came to visit for a few hours one evening. we were right at 4,000ft elevation, which made for low 70's during the day with lows in the high 40's. it was kind of a tight little spot for 2 trailers and tow rigs, but the view was worth finagling them in there. looking out the front door of the trailer. i always take photos of the flora around camp to send to my mom, she's a big flower/plant person. we were treated to a great Arizona sunset almost every night!
