theksmith 4,019 Posted October 30, 2010 I've had the rock in the brakes happen numerous times. If it does it again, try backing up 15-20 feet and it will usually dislodge itself. good idea, that might have helped when i very first heard the noise. by the time we had both listened to it, isolated which wheel, and decided it wasn't just sand and mud in the e-brake area, a rock had actually bent the dust shield into the rotor and that was causing most of the horrible noise, then 2 smaller rocks (or pieces of the first rock) had wedged in-between the bent shield and the rotor also causing some noise. theksmith 4,019 Posted October 30, 2010 How do you guys gauge the depth before entering the water?? I guess you just pucker up and head in??? i was in flip-flops and walked in a bit and it didn't seem too deep or fast - but i couldn't tell for sure there wasn't a giant hole in the middle waiting to swallow us! i decided to go first since G&D had the winch and they could pull me back out the way i came if it started to get too deep. George watched me and kept on the CB telling me how far up the tires it was as i inched my way into it. the way almost all of the surface was rippling also was an indication that it was shallow enough that the rocks below where causing turbulance on the surface. it was moving decently fast, and was for sure a pucker moment! dzJeepChic 2,512 Posted October 30, 2010 Do you thinking a M101 trailer would have been okay on this trail? I think in ideal conditions you would've made it okay, but personally I wouldn't want one yanking on the back of my Jeep through the technical section. Oh, and the extra weight may have made it pretty hard to get up some of the hills when it was slippery, and pretty scary to go back down those hills when it was slippery! Kdude, where was this picture taken? I didn't see the fence - was it in the park? d
theksmith 4,019 Posted October 30, 2010 Kdude, where was this picture taken? I didn't see the fence - was it in the park? d this was looking back right as we rejoined pavement, just north of the marina. my cousin has a farm and we though it would be a great picture to show her husband if he ever complains about having to put up fence in the easy florida sandy/soil!
