Ladybug 505 Posted January 25, 2011 axles brackets, check engine lights, 12 days in the shop... wow - more info required! Towed in from trail north of Wickenburg; severely corroded battery posts - my bad. Was home for 2 days and was driving over to shop to put deposit down on axle brackets when she died again.....Codes were misleading, but ultimately, low voltage pointed to bad battery cables....OEM cables took days to get in from Tucson...human error. Once the battery cables were replaced, she coded out again - cam shaft sensor. Well it was more than the sensor - also needed oil pump drive shaft....During all this time, windshield was replaced (developed long crack on the 2 days that I had her home) and axle brackets were done. It was a long time to be without my Gracie....I really missed her! I hope she keeps running wonderfully good now! smiles, ladybug
Ladybug 505 Posted January 25, 2011 All I really had time to do today was admire the handsome fellow sitting happily in his own garage for a change. Home and happy to be home! d Fun! Busy day, eh Diane? me too! smiles, ladybug

Did they charge you for the oil pump drive shaft? There is quite a thread going on the Jeep forum about this.
Ladybug 505 Posted January 26, 2011 Sorry to hear all this Karen. Did they charge you for the oil pump drive shaft? There is quite a thread going on the Jeep forum about this. Oh indeed they charged me!! Theres a technical bulletin for these in the 05 and 06 TJ's - but mine is an 04. Thank goodness....It appears as if the problem is reoccurring in those 2 years....I hope mine is fixed for a very long time!! smiles, ladybug
theksmith 4,175 Posted January 26, 2011 karen, sorry to hear about all the trouble, hope its the last of it for a while! i dropped mine off with Joe at Absolute Offroad today - fix exhaust leak - add 3/4" spacer in rear, as it's starting to sag a little - find out what's going click-click in my suspension (i think rear shock bushings) - oil/filter change and lube everything - take of front t-case yoke and measure everything so we can order a flange-style yoke for it. then it will match the rear of the t-case. then i can get a single spare driveshaft made that will work front or rear. macinyart 8 Posted January 26, 2011 Number 7 cut off the ends of my purdy chrome bumper the other day....at my request...and so I could get the tires onto the rock when needed. Then I got all inspired and installed an LED overhead light on the frame....that goes from the stock roll bar to the top of the windshield....again from George. Those LEDs aren't all that impressive in the daylight, but they sure are bright when it is dark. Great for reading the Wells book at night.
