What did you do to your rig today?

Recommended Posts

Number 7 cut off the ends of my purdy chrome bumper the other day....at my request...and so I could get the tires onto the rock when needed. Then I got all inspired and installed an LED overhead light on the frame....that goes from the stock roll bar to the top of the windshield....again from George. Those LEDs aren't all that impressive in the daylight, but they sure are bright when it is dark. Great for reading the Wells book at night. :)

Just got back from purchasing the CORRECT camper shell mounts (Will install today)

Check/Change Transfer Case fluid. I went with Royal Purple in both Front/ReaR Diff.. should I usse that for TC as well?

Use Red Line synthetic. I run it in my Cruiser. It's made for what we do. You will pay a little more for it but you will not find a better oil for your T/C, Diffs, or engine. I had some warranty work done on my rig and when Toyota saw the Red Line oil in my front diff (the color is red) they were very impressed with it. At first they thought I had water in my diff because of the color though.:D When they called me about it I was able to clarify what they were looking at.

I sat in the "BugEater" for a long time deciding how I wanted to go about modifying my laptop mount. Then I contemplated how to put together the money for a new LOD rear bumper with swingout versus just fabricating my own swingout jerry can holders for my existing Warn bumper and leaving the spare mounted to the rear door.

There come to mind SO many cute quips that could get me in all sorts of trouble...:P

BUT... I've turned over a new leaf, and will simply offer my sympathies, and an offer to help drink George's Beer if he needs a hand changing them...:P:p:p;)

......................

Like I have any room to talk... Spent much of the afternoon installing a set of Wig-Wags...:D;)

I have this LOD swingout and it's heavy, but has done me well for the 3 years that I have had it.....I use the rack on top for firewood, rather than a cooler.

I really like the looks of the LOD bumper. I've installed them for several friends on Jeeps and Cruisers. I know they're heavy but the Warn is heavy too without the swingout. I already run the OME Heavy Coils and shocks. The added weight might actually help me ride a little smoother. Although... It certainly won't improve my gas mileage.

LOD is a leader in their designs. I'm surprised we don't see more of them out there. Their engineering is some of the best I've seen. You pay for that engineering though.

I resolved that issue I discussed my earlier post about the laptop mount. The pondering is over. I posted a writeup about it in my build thread. You can see photos by clicking the link in my signature which takes you to my build thread.
