What did you do to your rig today?

Recommended Posts

I finally drilled out and replaced a broken skid plate bolt (from Red Creek). New wiper blades!

Tried out a new method of GPS today. I've been using an ancient Garmin, I've had it 12 years and it was used when I got it. Downloaded AlpineQuest to my tablet (per KSmith's recommendation) bought a ram mount and installed a crossbar on my RockHard cage. Ran down to Fossil creek today. System worked well, I'm happy with it.

Edit: not sure why image is sideways, it's correct on the computer.

Thanks for the insight on the mount. I have a similar tablet to yours, but still missing the mount. Going to check out the one you showed me on facebook. Glad this new system is working out for you! I've only used mine a couple times as a back up to my Garmin Montana since I wasn't sure I fully understood AlpineQuest. So far mine worked really great too.

Barbie got a partial spring upgrade. New OME 2 " lift springs in the rear, removing the budget boost I installed soon after I bought her. Sits a bit higher in the rear now, not really noticable from outside, but inside you can definitely tell the back is higher. Hopefully this will help clearance off road when I have the roof rack loaded.

Remember when we used to call that a "rake"?

Well, I couldn't think of an appropriate smart *ss remark so I'll just say "no". I thought you old timers referred to a ladies man as a Rake? Not sure, I'm not up on my 1920's slang. :D

I've been having trouble with intermittent low oil PSI when on the trail. It always seems to happen when I am in 4 low, first and coming to idle. I am sure it is an actual psi problem, not the sender. I finally decided to fix it. I am installing a new oil pump and while I am at it, a new timing chain, as well as various related seals and gaskets.

The old chain was so sloppy, you could jump rope with it. Jeep ran just fine.
